Miranda is a News Writer / Insights Researcher intern at Dao Insights. She recently completed a master’s degree in Chinese studies at SOAS, University of London. Her thesis explored how entertainment television contributes to the phenomenon of ‘therapeutic governance’ in China.
Miranda began learning Mandarin Chinese as a teenager and never looked back, continuing to pursue language learning as a hobby throughout school and university. She is passionate about the ‘immersion’ method of language learning and devotes much of her free time to watching Chinese TV to improve her skills. Miranda also works as a freelance copyeditor and Chinese-English translator.
