WeChat announced today that 50 million customised red envelopes will be available to collect on the platform between February 1 and 14 to celebrate Chinese New Year. The covers feature 60 famous brands including KFC, Pizza Hut, Ctrip and bubble tea retailer Coco.
Users can receive the special WeChat red envelopes by entering the brand’s name into WeChat’s search function or by sending a message with the associated hashtag to friends.
WeChat also released its special calendar today, featuring celebrities such as singer Jay Chou, actress Zhao Liying, actor Liu Haoran, and mobile games Onmyoji, League of Legends Pro League, and Honor of Kings.
