How to spend the eight-day national holiday? While many Chinese people chose to travel (425 million tourist trips take place in 4 days), others seized the opportunity to tie the knot. With COVID-19 prevention and control measures restricting couples’ ability to get married earlier on in the year, many rushed to get married during the National Day holiday.
According to the Beijing Evening News, popular venues in Beijing’s Chaoyang District are fully booked until June next year. The number of bookings for wedding jewellery during Golden Week on Meituan-Dianping increased by 137% year-on-year.
