China’s railways have seen over 10 million trips for six consecutive days amid the National Day holiday travel rush. During the whole eight day holiday period, 108 million railway passenger trips are expected to take place.
China State Railway Group predict that a total of 11.3 million railway trips will be made on October 6 as passengers return home. 803 additional trains have been put into operation to handle the increase in travel.
425 million tourist trips took place in the first four days of the holiday which is giving a boost to China’s domestic tourism industry, and its entertainment and hospitality sectors.
