Sales of Chinese anti-poverty e-commerce platform reach 3 billion RMB

The sales of Chinese e-commerce platform 扶贫832 exceeded 3.1 billion RMB in the 9 months of its launching up until the end of September 2020. The platform sells products from 832 counties in China that are on the state list of poverty-stricken areas.

The Chinese government helped farmers sell agricultural products via the e-commerce platform during COVID-19 to boost their income and appeal to new consumers. Over 68,000 agricultural products are available on the website.

The platform was launched on January 1 2020 and was co-founded by the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, the Ministry of Commerce, and the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development.
