Chinese phone brands dominate over half the global market

Chinese phone brands dominated over half the global mobile market in the second quarter of 2020, according to market consultancy Visual Capitalist. The same was also true of Chinese smartphone companies which accounted for over 50% of total shipments worldwide.

China’s Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo were among the top six smartphone brands. Chinese mobile brands are becoming more and more popular due to their competitive pricing and cutting-edge technology.

OPPO is expanding globally through partnerships with over 80 network operators around the world. Xiaomi’s smartphone shipments grew by 64.9% year-on-year in Europe in Q2, reaching a total market share of 16.8%
