Two of the largest global music companies Tencent Music Entertainment Group (TME) and Warner Music have announced the renewal of their long-term strategic cooperation licensing agreement.
TME will carry on distributing Warner Music’s music library to a Chinese audience on Tencent’s online music platforms, including QQ Music, Kugou Music, and Kuwo Music, and social entertainment platforms, such as the karaoke app QuanminKge. Users of TME’s platforms will also be able to access Warner Music’s content through certain smart terminal devices, such as car audio systems.
TME and Warner Music also announced that they will jointly develop a new venture record label. It will rely on the global resources of Warner Music and its artist development experience, and TME’s expertise in China’s market for music entertainment.
