As of August, Douyin, aka Chinese TikTok, hit 600 million daily active users (DAUs). In comparison, Douyin’s main competitor Kuaishou has half that, with 300 million DAUs.
The CEO of Douyin’s owner ByteDance, Kelly Zhang, announced that over 22 million creators had earned more than 41.7 billion RMB ($6.15 billion) on the platform over the last year.
The company also announced plans to invest 10 billion RMB into traffic resources to support creators.
