Douyin (China’s TikTok) attracts users interested in film content

Douyin (or Chinese TikTok) may have made its name as a platform for short-form videos but it is also doing well at attracting users who are interested in longer video content!

Between May 2019 and 2020, film content on Douyin received over 5 billion views per month. Indeed, as of the end of June 2020, the number of users on the platform interested in films reached 310 million, a yearly increase of 108%. 

These stats are from a recent report into “Movie and Short Form Video Marketing” from Maoyan Entertainment 猫眼娱乐and Ocean Engine 巨量引擎.
