Short-form video platform Kuaishou has teamed up with Secoo, one of the largest online luxury retailers in China to appeal to a luxury livestreaming audience. The new luxury ‘livestreaming base’ launched by the two is equipped with 7000 square meters of walking exhibition area which allows 300 livestreamers to broadcast at the same time. Kuaishou plans to work with Secoo to train and support livestreamers and further develop the ‘livestreaming base’.
Secoo is a Chinese online-to-offline luxury e-commerce platform that connects buyers and suppliers globally and plans to open a number of exhibition centres across China.
Kuaishou recently listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange which saw its valuation rocket to $160 billion on the first day of trading. The platform, which is a rival to Douyin, has 305 million average daily active users.
