China’s cross-border e-commerce market reaches $66 billion in Q1

According to The Paper, on 10 June, Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Gao Feng announced that China’s cross-border e-commerce imports and exports reached 419.5 billion RMB ($65.6 billion) in Q1 this year, a year-on-year increase of 46.5%.

“The Ministry of Commerce will continue to track the new characteristics and trends of cross-border e-commerce development, increase policy, management and service innovation, create a better business environment, and promote the healthy and rapid growth of cross-border e-commerce.”

In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses have looked to China, the only country to record positive economic growth in 2020, to sell their products.
