China sees first digital RMB flight ticket order

On 30 March, during Spring Airlines’ business trial period for digital payments, Shenzhen resident Minshui successfully purchased a one-way ticket from Shanghai to Shenzhen with digital RMB. The ticket price was 560 RMB. This was China’s first digital RMB-paid flight ticket, which represented the start of digital RMB payment in China’s civil aviation.

Spring Airlines announced that it will jointly develop digital RMB application scenarios with cooperative banks. The first phase has already been launched on the Spring Airlines App. Users who have enabled digital RMB payment services can choose ‘digital RMB’ to pay for tickets.
