Large commercial enterprises in Beijing will issue more than 4.5 billion RMB ($694 million) of cash and discount coupons to consumers participating in consumption festivals this year.
The ‘2021 Beijing Consumption Season’ will be launched on April 28, ahead of the five-day Labour Day national holiday. The ‘Consumption Season’ will take place over holidays and important shopping festivals, such as Singles’ Day and Double 12, with almost 1000 promotional activities taking place.
Delivery platform Meituan will issue 175 million RMB ($27 million) of consumer coupons online and offline. They will be accessible to consumers buying from any Beijing merchant on the platform, including in-store dining, takeaway, grocery shopping, taxi and hotels. The platform will issue 1.5 million RMB of the total consumer coupons during the Labour Day holiday.
