Time Magazine revealed its first-ever ‘100 most influential companies’ yesterday and nine Chinese companies made the list. The ranking includes companies who have had “extraordinary influence globally”, and is based on their relevance, influence, innovation, leadership, ambition, and success.
The list is divided into five sections: pioneers, leaders, innovators, titans and disruptors. Alibaba and Tencent are in the titan category, while Huawei and ride-hailing giant Didi Chuxing are marked as disruptors. Drone technology company DJI, ByteDance‘s short video platform TikTok, automotive manufacturer BYD, tech-focussed Nvidia, and fast-food multinational Yum China are listed as innovators.
