Alibaba seeks to dominate global blockchain development

IPRDaily and the incoPat Invention Index Research Center have released a report outlining which companies have applied for the most blockchain patents globally so far in 2020.

It has submitted 1,457 applications in the first half of 2020, which is almost the same number of its applications for the whole of 2019 (1,505).

Chinese companies accounted for almost half (46%) of the top 100 companies on the list. Tencent ranked 2nd with 872 applications and China’s largest server maker Inspur Group came in at 3rd with 274 applications.
