Tmall will start its pre-sales phase for Singles’ Day, the largest shopping festival in the world, on October 21.
This year, Singles’ Day, also known as Double 11, will be split into two phases on the platform: the initial stage will run from November 1 to 3, as well as on the usual promotional day, November 11. This will enable consumers to celebrate Singles’ Day for three more days and will give a boost to SMEs that have been affected by COVID-19.
Tmall predicts that over 250,000 brands, 5 million merchants and 800 million Chinese consumers will take part in the shopping festival.
Competitor platform JD has also expanded promotions for this year’s festival with 4 sales phases taking place.
