Restrictions introduced by Shanghai authorities will limit vehicles with license plates from other cities and provinces from travelling in certain areas of Shanghai, including major elevated roads, bridges, and tunnel roads.
The new regulations will come into effect on November 2 and will impact many people who commute to Shanghai from other areas.
Following the announcement of the regulations, many drivers commented that they want to buy a new energy car as soon as possible. New energy vehicles are expected to experience a further growth in demand in Shanghai as they are exempt from the regulations.
