The Hurun Research Institute released its report titled “The 4th Hurun Under 30s To Watch in China in 2020” today. As the name suggests, the list features China’s most successful entrepreneurs under the age of 30.
Some facts:
- The list comprises 208 individuals from 184 companies across 10 industries
- 82% of entrepreneurs on this list are male, while only 19% are female.
- Half of the individuals hail from the tier 1 cities of Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, and Suzhou.
One of the entrepreneurs on the list is Guonan 郭楠, the founder of high-end milk tea brand LELECHA. LELECHA, a relatively new player in the bubble tea industry, having only started in 2016 in Shanghai, has become one of the most popular tea franchises in China.
Hurun’s Chairman said that China needs more entrepreneurs to help rebuild the economy after COVID-19. A focus should be put on starting businesses in the 5G and AI industries, as well as on encouraging young entrepreneurs to aspire to become the next Jack Ma.
