AliExpress to test self-service parcel collection globally

AliExpress has announced that it plans to test self-service parcel collection machines in the Polish market. Launched in 2010, AliExpress is a cross-border e-commerce platform owned by the Alibaba Group.

With COVID-19 accelerating the adoption of e-commerce globally, there has been growing demands for AliExpress’ services across the world, including in Russia, Brazil, and Poland. According to market research company Gemius, AliExpress is Poland’s second-largest online e-commerce market with an estimated 5.87 million active users in 2020.

While no date for the project has been confirmed, senior officials at AliExpress stated that investment in the logistics sector in Poland will be a priority this year. AliExpress has been trying to increase its market share in Poland for a while. In October 2020, Polish football club Lech Poznań signed a sponsorship agreement with AliExpress which represented the company’s first global sports partnership.

“Poland is a key market for AliExpress in Europe and AliExpress plans to expand customer services in Poland in 2021, including increasing the number of products with three-day delivery.”

Gary Topp, Central & Eastern Europe Regional Operation Head in AliExpress
