Airline bookings jump 25% for upcoming national holidays

Online travel agent Qunar’s data revealed that on Sunday 28 March 2021, bookings for flight tickets during the Qingming aka Tomb Sweeping Day (4 April) holiday increased by 25% compared to the day before. Similarly, air travel bookings for the Labour Day holiday (1 May) increased by 14% on the same day.

Hainan, Yunnan, Xinjiang, Sichuan, Guangxi, and other popular tourist destinations saw a significant increase in the number of round-trip ticket searches and bookings during the five-day Labour Day holiday.

The average price of flight tickets during the Labour Day holiday this year reached 978 RMB (150 USD), an increase of 193 RMB or 25% compared to the same period in 2019.
