As of 15 May 2021, 450 million users had donated more than 11.88 billion RMB ($1.8 billion) to Tencent’s charity and fundraising platform since launching in 2007.
According to the 2021 China Internet Philanthropy Summit, 117 million donations were made in 2020 which marked the first time that the platform’s annual donations had exceeded 100 million.
In the past three years, the total amount of funds raised by Tencent Charity has increased steadily by 1 billion RMB per year:
- In 2020, the platform raised 3.85 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 37.3%
- In 2019, it received 2.80 billion RMB which was double that of 2018’s 1.73 billion RMB
