China’s first university focused on the online economy has been launched in Shanghai’s Putuo District. Himalaya University has been jointly developed by the Putuo government, chemical enterprise Shanghai Huayi Group and audio platform Himalaya.
The university will offer new occupational training focussed on the digital sphere and aims to produce high-level talent who can help with the development of China’s online economy. Training will include how to conduct e-commerce live-streaming and the Himalaya platform will also offer courses on how to become a podcast host.
