Pepsi unveils first humanoid robot in Shanghai

On 3 June, Pepsi hosted a major event in Shanghai to unveil its first-ever humanoid robot—Pepsi Blue Buddy. Partnering with global icon David Beckham, the brand brought its “Thirsty for More” spirit to life through cutting-edge technology and bold imagination.

AgiBot CTO Peng Zhihui joined Beckham at the launch, marking a new milestone for AgiBot in humanoid robotics and opening a fresh chapter in the commercial rollout of humanoid robotics. Embodying Pepsi’s adventurous brand DNA, Blue Buddy engaged with guests live—serving drinks with help from drones, performing tai chi to bridge cultures, and hyping up players during the sports segment as the event’s energetic “host.”

Beckham also connected with local youth soccer players, sharing stories from his early training days. He encouraged them to pursue their dreams while enjoying the teamwork and friendships they build along the way.

The debut of Blue Buddy reflects Pepsi’s continued push into cross-industry innovation. By using technology to spark fresh connections, the brand is making the future feel closer—and a whole lot more exciting.
