China’s air travel industry is recovering as the volume of flights to and from China has been steadily increasing since COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed.
In total, over 30.73 million air passenger trips were made during June as the travel industry resumed. There was an average of 10,820 flights per day in China (a monthly total of 325,000), which was up 14.1% from May. However, in July, this expanded further to a total of 370,000 flights and 36.99 million air passenger trips.
In other travel news, Chinese authorities also announced today that citizens from certain European and Asian countries who hold residence permits or visas will be able to return to China subject to strict quarantine regulations.
