On 27 May, AMOUAGE, the luxury fragrance house favored by Oman’s royal family, opened its first Asia-Pacific flagship store, The Sillage, in Shanghai’s Zhangyuan.

This is the brand’s first ocean-themed location. It blends scent and storytelling to pay tribute to the shared history of the maritime Silk Road between Oman and China. The concept draws inspiration from ancient Arabian sailing ships and the legendary voyages of Sinbad the Sailor from One Thousand and One Nights.
Creative Director Renaud Salmon partnered with Paris-based design studio Héroïne to bring the space to life. Stepping inside feels like diving into a dream: giant coral structures flank the entrance, a six-meter sailboat floats overhead, and wave-like aqua walls ripple alongside a gradient floor. Shadows of crashing waves shimmer across the windows, wrapping visitors in a full-sensory undersea escape. Guests can discover their scent profile through an interactive wall or slip into a private room for a personalized olfactory journey.

More than a boutique, AMOUAGE’s flagship redefines how fragrance is experienced. Each bottle is presented like a hidden treasure, waiting to be uncovered among coral and currents, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a deep-sea adventure through scent.
