Amazon has announced that it will continue to increase investment in China’s Jiangsu province through its cross-border trade support platform Amazon Global Selling. The service offers advice to merchants opening a store, as well as providing continuous training and logistical support.
Amazon aims to help six cities and twenty industries expand into cross-border e-commerce and explore different manufacturing potentials. Nanjing will be the main target of investment but the e-commerce giant will also help enterprises in Suzhou, Changzhou, Wuxi, Nantong and Xuzhou. Jiangsu province neighbours Shanghai and is located in eastern-central China. It is an important manufacturing base with one of the highest levels of foreign trade exports throughout China.
“Jiangsu province has profound manufacturing and R&D advantages, distinctive industrial belts, and significant advantages in foreign trade.”
Song Xiaojun, vice-president of Amazon China and head of Chinese seller development for Amazon Global Selling
Since May 2020, Amazon Global Selling has organized more than 50 livestreams and other offline events for Jiangsu merchants and businesses. Many enterprises have chosen to join the initiative to expand sales following the negative impact of COVID-19.
