Zara teams up with artist Lin Fanglu to launch collaboration collection

On 23 April, Zara launched the Fanglu Lin × Zara collaboration collection, partnering with artist Lin Fanglu. The first showcase will be held in Beijing, with the collection available on Zara’s online platform and in select stores. It will also be sold internationally in markets such as Spain, the UK, Italy, Japan, and South Korea.

Lin Fanglu, known for her pioneering work in fiber art, is crossing into fashion with this collaboration. This marks her first venture into the industry, introducing capsule wardrobe pieces across women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing, as well as home items.

The women’s and men’s collections feature embroidery, pleating, and knot details, using natural tones like indigo and black to create relaxed yet powerful silhouettes. These designs are inspired by Lin Fanglu’s hand-painted watercolor textures. The home collection emphasizes fabric texture and structure, blending craftsmanship with everyday life. Through this collaboration, Lin Fanglu brings her exploration of female consciousness and the inner world into fashion.

“In traditional craftsmanship, time is preserved in every stitch, knot, and rope. I’ve always been looking for a way to bring that quiet sense of time into modern life. This collaboration with Zara is my first attempt at making my work ‘wearable.’ They are no longer just still objects, but become a fiber language that moves with the body,” said Lin Fanglu.

In addition, Zara has created a pop-up space at Beijing’s Dongjingyuan Temple. The weathered stone bricks and carved door frames of the ancient temple echoed the rope knot elements, turning the language of fiber art into a new form of expression. This collaboration marks a new chapter in Lin Fanglu’s artistic journey and reinforces Zara’s ongoing efforts to bridge local culture with global fashion.
