China Resources Vanguard recently added a high-tech twist to grocery shopping by launching a Unitree robot tour at its Olé and Baigelong stores in Shenzhen. The event turned an ordinary supermarket visit into a live interactive tech show, giving shoppers a real-life “WALL-E” experience.
Unitree Robotics brought out several of its self-developed robots, which drew crowds with their playful designs, smooth movements, and smart interactive features. They roamed the aisles, danced, chatted with customers, and even helped carry items—adding a fun, futuristic vibe to the shopping trip.
Tao Zhiqin, deputy general manager of China Resources Vanguard, said in an interview that “evolving customer needs, rapid tech upgrades, and growing sustainability demands are key drivers behind Vanguard’s push for innovation.”
By bringing cutting-edge AI into the everyday act of shopping, the campaign drew attention with fun, hands-on interactions. It gave traditional retail a fresh spark and showed how tech can make even routine errands more engaging.
