Lancôme and HelloRide launch UV-sensitive bikes to beat the summer sun

Thinking of a carefree city ride only to be stopped by scorching heat and UV rays? Lancôme UV Expert has your back. On July 21, HelloRide rolled out a limited-edition white bike in collaboration with Lancôme UV Expert, designed to keep rides cooler and safer under the sun.

From July 21 to 31, 400 co-branded bikes will appear across Shanghai. During the campaign, users who post on Rednote with the official hashtag can enter to win a full-size bottle of Lancôme UV Expert sunscreen. Riders can also unlock free ride passes through the HelloRide app, making sun-safe commuting a breeze.

What makes these bikes stand out is a UV-sensitive coating that changes color within seconds of UV exposure. The rear wheel even displays the current UV index in real time, visually echoing Lancôme’s core focus: smart defense against sun-induced skin aging. The launch quickly went viral on social media, with influencers and locals posting snapshots of the bikes, sparking a city-wide “bike hunt.”
