Huawei is developing a new feature that will enable users to unlock their devices with the movement of their lips. According to data technology service company Tianyancha, a patent for the new feature was filed by Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. in December 2019.
The application will use lip movement identity authentication to enhance user experience and prevent plagiarism.
As well as being a leading smartphone manufacturer, Huawei has invested heavily into research and development and has deployed its services and products in more than 170 countries. According to its website, Huawei had over 100,000+ active patents by the end of 2020 and had invested over 720 billion RMB in R&D over the past decade.
