Douyin teams up with Bazaar Pets for May Day pet photoshoot

As the May Day holiday kicks off, Douyin Shop has teamed up with Bazaar Pets to launch a special photoshoot featuring pets in the workplace. In this playful role-reversal, pets dress up in professional outfits and pose in office scenes like meeting rooms, tea corners, and working desks, capturing their “workday looks”.

From April 28 to May 11, Douyin Shop is also running the “Pets Superpower” campaign, featuring hashtags like #My pet is my best travel buddy (宠物是我最好的户外出游搭子) to highlight different ways pet owners engage with their pets. The initiative encourages users, influencers, and merchants to share stories, product recommendations, and fun moments, ranging from pet-friendly travel to showcasing pets’ unique talents.

Pet influencers and their furry companions have also taken part in livestreams as “Product Experience Officers,” testing and showcasing products such as pet food, smart devices, and adorable apparel, offering viewers an up-close look at each item’s real-life usefulness and appeal.

With the pace of modern life fueling anxiety, pets have become an emotional anchor for many young people. According to the 2025 White Paper on China’s Pet Industry (Consumption Report), the urban dog and cat market reached 300.2 billion RMB (about 41.7 billion USD) in 2024. The share of young pet owners continues to grow, with many now viewing pets as “chosen family.” This campaign captures the warmth of those bonds, and reminds of how the love between people and pets continues to quietly flourish.
