Xiaomi opens ‘Human x Car x Home’ ecosystem exhibition

Ahead of the climax of the 618 Shopping Festival, Chinese tech company Xiaomi opened a technological exhibition for its Human x Car x Home smart ecosystem in Beijing. On until 18 June, the exhibition is hosted at the HUAXI LIVE Wukesong in Western Beijing.

The exhibition is divided into 3 areas. Outside the expo space are all of Xiaomi’s EV models, including the SU7, SU7 Ultra and the not yet on sale YU7 SUV. Inside the space, Xiaomi has brought five smart home use case scenarios to the exhibition: a living room, a kitchen, a desk, a kid’s room and a mini gym, presenting a “one-stop” experience for visitors to imagine what a high-tech home feels like. On top of that, it also opened a “state subsidy” sales area for 618 appliances and home items.

Visitors can receive a free, exclusive bottle of water and be in with a chance to win a baseball cap after “checking in” (打卡) on social media. A specialised guide team will provide an immersive experience for visitors, while Xiaomi has also created a 618 “shopping list” to help consumers build their own ecosystem at home through a one-stop shop. Online, Xiaomi has partnered with China Central Television (CCTV) for a special show, featuring newscasters, celebrities and representatives from both Xiaomi and JD.com.

Xiaomi began with smartphones and smart appliances before entering the EV market. Now, its key strategy has been the Human x Car x Home smart ecosystem. With its cars topping sales rankings and an in-house designed chip in development, Xiaomi is closer than ever to achieving its vision. Of course, the government-backed subsidies of electrical appliances, consumer electronics and home items has also helped.
