Grand opening: Tiffany celebrates its largest shop in China with exhibition

American luxury jeweller and watchmaker Tiffany & Co. has been continuing its expansion in China with 7 new and refurbished stores opening in 2025. We reported the refurbishment of its Chengdu store earlier this year. Earlier this month, Tiffany hosted the grand opening of its largest store in China, naming it the brand’s first-ever three-storey flagship store in the country. To commemorate this, Tiffany will be hosting an exhibition at the Taikoo Li Chengdu location.

The grand opening was hosted on 13 March. The president and CEO of Tiffany, Anthony Ledru and Maxence Kinget, Tiffany’s president of Greater China, both attended the opening. Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi was also invited to the event. The refurbished store is now home to 6 limited-time windows, all themed in motifs such as the bamboo forest, a rose, the ocean, etc., paying homage to both Tiffany’s heritage and the city of Chengdu.

The brand will also host an in-store exhibition at the Taikoo Li Chengdu flagship between 24 March and 25 May, titled: Wonders from the Tiffany Archives (溯时寻珍:蒂芙尼古董珍藏: lit: tracing back time: Tiffany antique collection). The exhibition will be divided into three sections: one about the origin of Tiffany, another about its iconic diamonds, and a third about the French Jewellery designer Jean Schlumberger (1907-1987).

With further plans to open more shops, new and refurbished, in Beijing and Shenzhen, the LVMH-owned jewellery house is on course for further expansion in China beyond its current 44 stores. Ledru also said in a recent interview that China has always been a growth market for the brand, and it is accelerating its adjustment and arrangement to meet its needs.
