Fliggy invites you to become a K-pop idol

Wanna know what it feels like to be an idol in a K-pop group? Now you can have a taster with a Fliggy 3-day-2-night tour of Seoul. Boasting an immersive experience of the idol culture of South Korea, the package tour will turn you into an idol in less than 72 hours.

The tour will include a crash course in K-pop dance training, with an appearance from an actual idol (from a group called IDOL no less) on the Fliggy VIP livestream, a music video shoot, a makeup session for the stars (the salon behind AESPA and many more) and viewing a live show. The tour is extremely limited with only 5 places available, and it will also set you back 9,999 RMB (1,410.06 USD). The good thing is that everything is included in the package so there are no hidden costs. Also, you can win one of the places by participating in a prize draw on Fliggy’s livestream.

For those who cannot get the whole treatment, there are also parts of the experience which are sold separately. Starting from 999 RMB (140.88 USD), you can take part in just the idol makeup session from the package. The first 150 customers can get a gift card worth 100 RMB (14.10 USD) to use in Korea and if booking 14 days ahead, you can get another gift card worth 100 RMB to use on flights. 320 RMB (45.13 USD) plane tickets to Seoul are also available on Fliggy. On Weibo, China’s Twitter equivalent, the topic “Fliggy launches K-pop idol experience tour” (#飞猪推出韩国爱豆体验团#) gained 11.67 million views.

South Korea has been a popular destination for Chinese visitors. In July, 459,000 travellers from Mainland China visited Korea, the most from a single country as Korea’s visitor number reached 1.41 million in July, growing 36.5% YoY, reaching 97% of 2019 levels. The Fliggy idol tour feels more like a promotion campaign for its Korea tour services and flight tickets. However, it does resemble the “learning” tours popular this summer, where people, mostly children and parents go on package tours with educators or institutions for immersive learning and experiences.
