Canada Goose (加拿大鹅) have picked a new Global Ambassador in time for the drop of their Fall/Winter line, and this time they’ve looked to Asia. Taiwanese actor and singer Greg Han (许光汉) will be the front man.
Han – sometimes also known as Greg Hsu – is famous for his roles in Have You ever Fallen in Love, Miss Jiang? (姜老师,你谈过恋爱吗) and Someday or One Day (想见你), both popular Taiwanese TV dramas. He’s also starred in movies and, as many Asian stars do, sidestepped into music. In 2020 he made 69th on Forbes’ China Celebrity 100 list.

The brand’s new range of clothing takes a step away from their traditional look of heavy winter coats to focus on lighter, year-round gear. This move is straight from the mind of the brand’s new(ish) Creative Director, Haider Ackermann. He became Canada Goose’s first-ever CD last year and has been pointing the brand’s clothing in a new direction – one that largely targets a more urban consumer. Heavy winter coats are still part of the look, but the rest of the apparel takes a fashion-forward, utility-driven lifestyle approach.

Given that Asia – and the Chinese-speaking world in particular – is a huge market for this kind of urban fashion, it’s not surprising that they’ve gone with Greg Han. At 35, the man is clean-cut and relatable for both young and old. He embodies Canada Goose’s new style and represents a massive potential market.
Partnerships like this will help Canada Goose transition their brand image from cold-weather necessity to a global luxury lifestyle brand. With the Chinese luxury market on the rise, expect to see plenty of similar collaborations from them in the future.
