The China-based international fashion e-commerce platform SHEIN has become the most popular fashion website in Israel.
For the first time ever in Israel, purchases on SHEIN were higher than total purchases on British fashion websites Asos and Next. 62% of consumers made purchases on SHEIN website, compared to 21% on Next.com, and 17% on Asos.
The e-commerce site is popular among millennials and is known for its cheap fashion items, which are similar to those of high-street stores, such as H&M.
The business now covers 220 countries, although it was banned in India along with 58 other Chinese apps in June due to border tensions.
Shein describes itself as:
It upholds the philosophy that “everyone can enjoy the beauty of fashion.
The company has been running for 12 years, and its headquarters are based in Nanjing.
