As the Chinese market expands its alcohol tastes, a wider range of products from different regions are bursting onto the market. Chile is the latest country seeking to expand its presence in the Chinese alcohol market.
The Chilean Embassy in China has authorised the opening of a store called Chile National Pavilion on JD. The e-commerce platform will help Chilean wine brands reach more consumers in China by providing them with marketing and data support.
“JD will give Chilean wine brands access to the Chinese market by making use of our advantages in supply chain, big data, and creative marketing.”
Wang Nan, director of wine procurement for JD Supermarket
JD developed the first online platform for direct sales of international wine brands to China in 2018. It has signed cooperation agreements with key wine-producing countries including New Zealand, Argentina, and France.
